I had the honour of being the official photographer again for the Youth Unlimited/Youth for Christ Winter Gala held this year at the Americana Hotel in Niagara Falls. This organization helps youth in our Niagara area in so many areas.
Rose and her team provide prenatal and postnatal education, with the cooperation of the local health nurse, to the young moms as well as life training to the many girls who come to the centre every week. Rose has been dedicated to this cause for many years and all the kids know her as Auntie Rose. Her love for these kids is overflowing.
Ben is the centre director and leads the young men’s programs teaching them how to be good, responsible fathers and members of the community.
Both share the love of Jesus with all the kids at their weekly study sessions and the Friday drop in. For some of these kids, their love is the only love they receive. The centre also provides food, clothing for the kids and for babies as well as hygiene products that many cannot afford.
Just before dinner began we were dazzled by the skipping acrobatics of Eilea Given and Kaitlin Simpson. These beautiful young ladies left us breathless with their jumping.
During dinner we heard amazing life stories of how YFC had helped Chloe and Gord in difficult situations. These 2 wonderful young adults are testaments to this fantastic organization and the difference love can make to someone in need.
Silent and live auctions went on all evening with bidders competing for amazing donated items. The dinner was scrumptious and Marble Slab Creamery provided dessert all evening! Music provided by Monkley Cascade was excellent and from the noise level in the ballroom, so was the conversation!
All the volunteers did an amazing job pulling this Gala together and making it the best one so far!
This year’s theme, as you may have already guessed, was The Great Gatsby and it was great to see so many guests embrace that theme and dress accordingly. Our Photo Booth captured many of the guests in their finery.
